Five takeaways from Hofmeister's presser

Charged last year for allegedly accepting illegal donations to her 2014 campaign, state schools superintendent Joy Hofmeister learned Tuesday the case against her had been dropped

"This is a joyful day for me and my family and a day for which we have long anticipated," said Hofmeister, who had consistently maintainer her innocence. 

There is still a lot to learn about why the charges were dropped and what Hofmeister might do in response, but here are five takeaways from a press conference she held Tuesday evening declaring the ordeal behind her.

Reelection: Hofmeister didn't hesitate when asked if she would seek reelection in 2018. 

"Absolutely," Hofmeister said.
