WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump is barreling into a high-stakes September after what's turning out to be a summer of discontent.
Trump is facing a stretch that will test his relationship with Republican lawmakers who are growing weary of his volatility.
He's spent the summer tangling with some of the same lawmakers he'll need to work with to pass a government funding bill, raise the debt ceiling and make a difficult bid for a tax overhaul.
The West Wing has been upended by a series of personnel shake-ups that Trump has endorsed and second-guessed, including his choice of retired Marine Gen.
