WASHINGTON (AP) — Republican Rep. Dave Reichert of Washington state says he is retiring from Congress after seven terms.
Reichert, a former sheriff who captured the "Green River Killer," has represented a suburban Seattle district since 2005.
He said in a statement Wednesday that his decision not to seek re-election was difficult, but added: "I believe it was the right one for my family and me.
