NORMAN — Former state Sen. Ralph Shortey is now facing a more serious federal indictment over his rendezvous in March with a boy at a Moore hotel.
A federal grand jury in Oklahoma City has returned an indictment Tuesday charging Shortey with child sex trafficking and child pornography offenses.
Shortey, R-Oklahoma City, pleaded not guilty at his first court appearance Wednesday afternoon.
Shortey, 35, already was facing a state child prostitution case accusing him of offering to pay a 17-year-old boy for "sexual stuff.
