The Oklahoma Sierra Club is challenging a registration fee on electric and hybrid vehicles passed this year by the Legislature, calling it an arbitrary fee that requires drivers to pay more than their fair share for road use.
The lawsuit, filed Monday at the Oklahoma Supreme Court, wants the court to strike down House Bill 1449.
The legislation established a $100 fee for the registration of an electric vehicle and a $30 fee for a hybrid vehicle.
