Justice Dept. again seeks standards for forensic testimony

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Justice Department is reviving work to develop federal standards for what forensics experts can say in court.

Department leaders wanted standards after revelations in 2015 that FBI hair examiners had overstated the strength of their evidence in many cases dating back decades.
